Good to know
Can I get my regular medication?
Often, yes. Bring the name and dose, or a photo of the box or of your prescription from home. Some medicines sold abroad have a different name or are not available in Brazil; the doctor will suggest an equivalent when there is one.
Do I need Brazilian documents?
No. Your passport is enough for the consultation and for the pharmacy.
Are controlled medications possible?
Only when the doctor finds it clinically appropriate, following Brazilian regulations. Extra information may be requested.
Is this for emergencies?
No. For emergencies call 192 (SAMU ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital.
